Word came to town last Sunday morning that Felix Garten had been found dead. It seems that Mr.

Garten had attended the Reunion at Houston Saturday and came home with Andrew Fredrick, ate a hearty supper and went to bed. He seemed to be restless and told Mr. Fredrick that he believed he would get up and sit out on the porch as he had commonly done Sunday mornings. When they got up Mr. Garten was gone.

In a short time Bill Henderson came over to see Mr. Garten about renting some pasture for his horses and not finding him at Mr. Fredrick's Bill went down to Mr. Garten's house which is only a short distance and found Mr. Garten sitting in a chair dead.

Dr. Haggard examined Mr. Garten and decided that he came to his death from drinking carbolic acid. The Doctor thinks he drank 2 ounces, as there were two empty bottles sitting near the corpse and his hands were burned by the acid. Mr.

Garten was a bachelor and owned a large farm 21 miles south of the 'Ville. 50 111 00 36 30 60 53 48 12 54 31 15 40 57 54 6 6 32 39 40 64 51 39 47 60 37 54 65 47 50 37 41 41 63 47 27.
