Houston, March 21, 2002 Section A Page 3 Deaths fVn-M TV 1J J.R. Reed accompanied by the Real Blues Band performed Saturday at the Stained Glass Theatre. The event was sponsored by Community Betterment and Arts Council of Houston. It was partially funded by the Missouri Arts Council. Raymondville supper sponsored hy the Booster Club generated a turnout Friday mghi Approximately $750 was raised to aid the Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department in erecting a fire station on Highway Several area businesses donated and local residents contributed cash donations and homemade soups and chili.

The Raymondville Baptist Church and New River Grass Band entertained (he crowd wilh renditions ol various gospel and blue grass tunes. Volunteers from the clubs and fire department served the food and helped clean (net members are encouraged to attend, as building plans progress and dales to begin clearing the building site will he discussed. The Raymondville churches will hold a joint Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday. March 31, at the Raymondville Baptist Church.

The message will be by Pastor Scott Lindsiey of the Raymondville United Methodist Church. Special music will be shared by the community choir and various members of the congregated churches. Breaktast will be served free of charge following the service. The Raymondville Baptist Church will present a musical Easier drama, "The Resurrection and the Rapture," during its morning service at II a.m. March 31.

The adult, youih and children's choirs will participate. The quarterly open meeting of the Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department is 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday! at the Raymondville Community Building. 84. son of William H. and Bertha Bcllfield McVay, was born Oct. 23, 1917. at Atlanta.

He died March 1 3, 2002. at Topeka Care Center in Topeka, Kan. He was a military veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War 11. Following his military service, he worked at Fort Leonard Wood and farmed.

He retired in 1982. He married Margaret H. Gustafson Nov. 24, 1950, at Chicago. 111.

He was preceded in death by his wife Oct. 13. 1997; two brothers, Walter and Forrest McVay; and one sister. Madge Moncnef, Surviving are one son, Bill McVay of Baltimore. two daughters, PatU Dawson of Topeka, and Barb Creech of Licking; one sister, Hllen McVay of Houston; and five grandchildren.

Services were March 18 at Latumore Chapel at First Bapiist Church. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Dale Martin Lawrence Dale Martin, 74. son of Homer Martin and May Dooley Martin, was born Oct.

26. 1927, at Kimhall. He died March 13. 2002. at St.

John's Regional Health Center in Springfield He grew up in Texas County and in 1945. married Glcndora Reeves. They had two daughters. At age 15, he started buying and selling livestock across the U.S. and overseas.

He attended two or three livestock sales each week until his deaih. In the '60s. he owned and operated the Licking Livestock Auction During the '70s. he ow ned and operated the Cabool Livestock Auction. He also was a farm auctioneer.

His hobby was pulling horses and competing in local and states contests. He had a great love for children. He was a member of Texas Lodse 372 1.0.0 F. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie and Donna, his parents; and one brother. Lynn Martin, Surviving are his wife of the home in Houston; and one brother, Leon Martin of Secquine.

Ed Hamilton officiating Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Births Bonnie Laster Bonnie 1-aye Laster, 52, daughter ol Albert Owen Swindle and Mattie Lou Ward Swindle, was barn Feb. 23.

1451). at Bemis, in Madison County She died March 1.1, 2002, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis following a lengthy illness. She married Ernest Stephen Laster Jan. 20.

1469, in Dallas, Texas They had live daughters. Mrs. Laster worked at Carrol I on Farmer Branch Independent School District lor several years. She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Verna Goodwin and Kalhcnnc Popp. Surviving are her husband of the home, five daughters.

Mary Smith of Bmory, Texas, and Tammy Carter of Houston; her mother of Houston; two brothers, Donnie Swindle of Houston and Dennis Swindle of Dallas, Texas; one sister. Lula Hamilton of Montgomery, Texas; and 12 grandchildren. Services were March 16 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Bruce Moore officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery. Fern Malicoal Fern Hicks Malicoat. 76. oldest daughter of James Leslie Hicks and Delia Cameron Hicks, was born Aug.

24. 1925, at Prcscott. She died March 13. 21X12, at Hay ward, Calif. She lived in Texas County as a young girl and in Lee's Summit.

She married Huey Malicoal. They lived in California. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son. Daryl Malicoat. Surviving arc one sister, Jeanne Williams of Lee's Summit; and two grandsons.

An aunt, Ruth Bates, lives in Houston. Leburn Bracket! Leburn Franklin 74, son of John W. Bracken and Rosetta Morgan Spencer, was born Mav 31. 1927. at Hartshorn.

He died March 13. 2(1(12, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. He married Bonnie Mcrckling Sept. 7. 1948, They had five children.

Mr. Bracketl was a logger for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and country music. He played the banjo and guitar. He married Lorene Courtney Bay Nov.

15. J96H. She had four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters. Myrtle and Ruthinc.

Surviving are his wife of the home at Raymondville; his children, Michial Bracken, Jennifer Bryant and Melissa Levingston of Springfield, Louis Bracket! of Tultle. and Samuel Brackett of Houston; his stepchildren, Leonard Bay of Lebanon, Linda Taylor of Birch Tree. Barbara White Agenda Jay Austin Morton Born March 8, 2002. to Joseph and Julie Morion ol Norwood Wt. 6 lbs.

1941, at Big'piney. She died March 16. 2002. at her home in Houston following a battle with cancer. She married Dewain Hall March 14, 195H.

They had one son. Mrs. Hall loved attending yard sales, where she added to her col-lectihles such as chickens, especially roosters, and Moss Rose dishes. Other hobbies included growing flowers, working in the yard, crocheting and making quilts She loved to cook and share the food she prepared with family and friends. She and her husband spent many hours fishing.

She was preceded in death hy her parents; three brothers, James, Cecil and Dale Massy; and a half sister, Thelma. who died in inlancy. Surviving are her husband ol ihe home; one son. Bobby Hall of Columbia; two brothers, Clifford "Bud" Massey of Houston and Melvin Massey of Plato; two sisters, Virda McCoy and Fern Quick of Houston; two stepsisters, Ruth Hale of Licking and Caroline Hurley of Houston; one half sisler, Sharon Wiseman of Success; two half brothers, Troy Massey of Houston and Terry Massey of Quail, Texas, and two grandsons. Services were March 19 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery. Wilda Irene Ray Wilda Irene Ray, 80, daughter of Arthur Henry and Roxa Elizabeth Skiles Housden, was born Dec. 25, 1921, at Licking. She died March 15.

2002. at Christian Health Care Center East of Spnnglield. She attended the Licking Schools and was a graduate of Missouri Business School of St. Louis. She worked for Prudential Insurance in St.

Louis in 1939 and '40 and at Fort Leonard Wood from 1940 -'42. At the lime of her marriage to Alba W. Ray Jr. Sept. 6.

1942. she was secretary to the quartermaster. She moved to San Antonio, Texas, where her husband was stationed at Randolph Field. She worked for a short lime at an office on the base. While raising three children, Mrs.

Ray was active in church, school and civic affairs including the Missouri Federation of Women's Club, where she held a state chairmanship. She was a member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star; member of Beta Sigma Phi and the First Baptist Church in Licking. In 1957-'58, she was co-owner and manager of Town and Country Dress Shop in Licking; owner and manager of Serendipity House, an antiques and gift shop from 1972 -'85; and an independent sales representative for Lee Wayne Leshorc Co. of Sterling, from 1993 to 2001. Her hobbies included cross stitch, scrap booking, piano playing and fishing.

She produced several community musical events. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Edna Lucille Haggard; and a brother. Athol "Jack" A. Housden. Surviving are two daughters.

Linda Beth Concoby of Rogers, and Dehra Sue Ray of (Turn to page 7, this secnoni Let us create a cap, Houston. Geneva Rimel Geneva Ailcne Archer Rimel, 78, second child of Van and Ivel Tutile Archer, was born Dec. 10. 1923. at Pocatello, Idaho.

She died March 13. 2002. at Rogers. Ark. The family moved to Missouri when she was a small child.

She graduated from Cabool High School in 1942. A few years laier, she accepted Christ as her savior. She married Junior Rimel on June 15, 1947. They had four children and made their home in Cabool from 1947 to 1997. when they moved to Rogers.

to be near their children, Mrs. Rimel worked at Mid-America Dairymen for 30 years as a lab technician. She retired in 1985. During their retirement, they traveled and made many inps by car around the country. In recent years, they traveled less but returned to the HoustonCabool area for the annual Tuttle family reunion.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Lavena Ellis and Effa Bell Bennett; and a brother, Lawrence Van Archer. Surviving arc her husband of 54 years; children. Roger of St. Louis, Connie Hatlon of Rogers, Chris Rimel of Centerton. and Lori Bndgeford of Decatur, a sister, June Ireland of Florida; and five grandchildren.

Services were March 16 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darin Alvis officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery. Kenneth Tate Kenneth "KT" Karl Tate. 63, son of Allen and My ma Johnson Tate, was born Feb.

17, 1939. He died March 15. 2002. He lived in the Cabool community all of his life. He grew up southwest of Cabool.

where he helped his parents, two brothers and four sisters on the family farm. He graduated from Cabool High School in 1957. He married Barbara Jean Briggs Nov. 4. I960.

They had four children. The Tales purchased a small farm and house on Highway PP and attended Ml. Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church, where he was baptized. Prior to his retirement May 25. 2001, he worked in the lab at Dairy Fanners of America 4 1 years.

He farmed most of his life, raising cattle. He enjoyed working in the vegetable garden and yard. Most spare summer weekends were spent at the golf course. He and Barbara were an avid golf team and were often seen at Wedgewood Country Club. He enjoyed his family, teaching them core values and a strong work ethic.

He took his grandchildren for rides on the tractor and four wheeler. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Loma Gay. Surviving are his wife of 41 years; his daughter, Lana Brown of Houston; twin sons, Barry of Bolivar and Brad of Spnnglield; two brothers, Francis and Dennis Tate; and four sisters, Karen Howell. Shirley Reed, Joan Tollison and Barbara Foster; and eight grandchildren. Services were March 18 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Hubert Darter officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Providence Church of Cabool building fund. Dale Adkison Dale Allen Adkison, 40, son of Robert and Mahle Adkison, was born Aug. 1961.

at Cabool. He died March 15. 2002. at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield following a short illness.

He graduated from Cabool High School in 1979. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church. In Vacation Bible School, he was voted the "happiest kid" and awarded a "smiling Mr. Adkison served for about 12 years in the U.S.

Army, stationed in Germany, Hawaii. the Philippines, New Zealand, Korea. Saudi Arabia. Kuwait and Iraq He received a Bronze Star while serving in Desert Storm. While in Korea in 1989.

he gave Vice Presidem Dan Quayle a tour of the DMZ and presented him with a jacket and cap from his military unit. At the time of his death, he worked for Cargo Transporters in Joplin.
