Surviving are a son. Dale D. Wyatl one daughter, Dallena Diane Wyatt; eight sisters, Carol Brim of Raymondville, Jackie Gilbert of Bellflower and Virginia Gann, Sharon Decker, Marty Lane, Beity Vestal, Brenda Brim and Nancy James of Licking; one brother, Frank Davy of Licking; and one grandson. Services were April 8 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Velma Trout officiating.

Burial was in ihe Trout Cemetery. Dwayne Cochran Dwayne C. Cochran, 77, son of Barney and Tressie McKinney Cochran, was born Aug. 22. 1924, at Des Moines, Iowa He died April 5.

Ethel Stark Ethel Jean Crawford Stark, 59, daughter of Leslie and Nancy Wake Crawford, was born April 16. 1942, al Willow Springs.

She died April 3. 2002, at the home of her son al Halfway. Following her schooling, she married George Stark. They had three children. They moved to the Cabool area.

The last few years, she had been in falling health. She loved collecting whatnots, having yard sales, country music and watching wrestling programs. She did sewing and went fishing. She was of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Creta Jo Ellis, in 1995.

Surviving are her children. George Stark of Halfway and J.D. Stark and Tammy Bowling of Cabool; two sisters. Doris Adams of Spnngfield and Cathy Renegar of Mountain View; three brothers. Charles Crawford of Idaho.

Jack Crawford of Wichita, and R. Crawford of Willow Springs; and 13 grandchildren. Services were April 6 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Willow Springs City Cemetery.

Kalie Means Katie Irene Means. 94, daughter of James Thomas and Janie Brown Walls, was born Oct. 17, 1907, in Texas County. She died April 4, 2002, al Willow Springs. She married Otho D.

Means June 4, 1933. They had six children. Mrs. Means was a member of the Faith and Hope Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Gillie, Nina, Zella, Goldie and Letha; her husband; two sons.

Darrell and Bobby; and two grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Leonard Means of Newport News, Jack Means of Willow Springs and Tom Means of Macon; one daughter, Sharon Collins of Willow Springs; Ferguson, Margaret Wisdom, Pauline Rowen, Eugene Coals, Wil ma Neugebauer, Eva Harris, Susie Wood, Kaihy Atkisson. Marjone Bradshaw and guests, Jessie Courtney. Kathy Schivuz, Tammy Atkisson and Melanie Bradshaw. The next potluck is Saturday, May 5.

Meihodist Church, chapter 144 of the Order of liasiern Star and the Seymour Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 13. 1977; her parents and three brothers, Lawrence, John and Earl Gobble. Surviving are her son, Bill Williams of Springfield; two sis lers.

Services were April 4 at the Seymour United Methodist Church with the Rev Ron Brown official, ing. Burial was in the Seymour Masonic Cemctcrv under the direction of Hoiman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Memorials may be made to the Seymour United Methodist Church building fund.

Carl Baker Carl Lloyd Baker. 82. son of Walter Silas and Lola Estella Throgmartw Baker, was born Dec. 9, 1919, near the Number One community in Texas County. He died April 1, 2002.

at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. enlisting June 12.

1942. He served in Tunisian. Rome-Arno, Northern Apennines and the PO Valley. He was awarded four Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He saw first-hand the devastation of the atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan He was entitled to wear the Asiatic-Pacific and European African Middle Eastern campaign ribbons, five overseas bars and the Victory Ribbon.

He married Ruby Jewell Baney Oct. 8, 1947. They had two children. Mr. Baker spent his lifetime in this area on the family farm in the Upton community where he was a dairy and beef farmer.

He was a member of the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church for 29 years, where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Agenda Thanks Thanks to the voters in Ward III in the Cily of Houston for their vote and support in last week's election. They had one daughter. Mr. Cochran worked 40 years for Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, III. The Cochrans moved lo Springfield after retiring. He then worked at Helzbcrg Diamond Jewelry Store in Springfield.

He enjoyed ihe outdoors, gardening, planting flowers at his home, hunting and fishing. He was a mason. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of the home; one daughter. Sherry Duncan of Peoria.

and one granddaughter. Graveside services were April 8 at the Allen Cemetery near Raymondville with Espy Smith officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Bill Crane Billy Lloyd Crane, 70, son of Donald Lloyd Crane and Leora Taber Crane Yates, was bom Jan. 8, 1932, at Mount Vernon. He died April 6, 2002, at his home near Eunice.

He married Evelyn Bryson in 1958. They had four children. He already had one son, Don. Mr. Crane was an electrician al power plants and traveled where needed.

He also worked in the family business of selling mobile homes. He later raised dogs and enjoyed working with the puppies. He became a Christian in 1960 and was a member of the Eunice Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson. Surviving are his wife of Summersville; his children, Andree Havens.
