Houston, June 3, 1993 Section A Page 3 Deaths 1 ,1 Vs tjr EMT Course 0ne.0, handed "ring an emergency medical technician course at Texas County Memorial Hospital. Memorial Hospital. She received a teaching degree from Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield and attended college in Denver, receiving her master's degree. She taught locally at three schools before moving to Illinois and continuing as a teacher. She married Chester W.

Bailey May 14, 1944. They moved to Wilmington, in 1946, and she taught a variety of high school courses: typing, shorthand, business, history and home economics. She retired in 1972 alter 45 years and received the outstanding teacher recognition and achievement awards. The Baileys moved to Raymondvillc in 1984. She became a resident at Houston House about a year ago.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers. Surviving arc her husband, Chester W. Bailey of Houston; and two sisters, Aleda Creek of Raymondvillc and Ruth Wucriley of Summersville. Services were June 2 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Sicclman officiating.

Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery. Stalder Awarded At Fort Wood Retirement Amil Stalder of Bucyrus, upon retiring April 30, was presented the commander's award for civilian service for meritorious performance of duly during 29 years of Civil Service at Fori Leonard Wood. He was cued for his performance as a heavy and light mobile equipment repair inspector, reviewing more than 1.2(K) vehicles per year and contributing to the successful completion of many missions at numerous Fort Leonard Wood i5 yN Charles Long Charles Alvin Long, 65, son of Alvin and Emma Reust Long, was bom Dec. 5, 1927. ai Topeka, Kan.

He died May 25. 1993. at his home at Eunice. He married Itsuko Selcman, and ihey had two children. Mr.

Long served in the Air Force for several years and worked as director of a drug rehabilitation center in Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6508 of Houston. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbum, Melvin and Raymond Long; and one sister. Margaret Collins. Surviving are his wife, Itsuko, of the home ai Eunice; two sons.

Robert Whitby of Jackson, and Charles Long Jr. of Mernam, two sisters, Ida Houston of Independence and Mary Adcock of Kansas City, and one brother. Marvin Long of Clinton; and four grandchildren. Services were May 27 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery at Leavenworth, with the Rev. Ellis Hacker officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summcrsville. Dorothy Jett Dorothy E. Jctt, 79. daughter of Charles Spainhowcr and Bessie Stevens Spainhowcr, was born April 20, 1914. at St.

Joseph. She died May 28, 1993, at her home in Houston. As a girl, she moved with her family from Missouri to Wyoming. She married George Jett Jan. 24, 1930.

They moved to Idaho and had four children. The family moved to the Licking area in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband. George, and a brother, Frank. Surviving arc three sons, Jesse Jen and George Jctt Jr.

of Licking and Lee Jctt of Nashville, one daughter, Doris Dixon of Houston; one sister, Ethel Blunkcnship of Sandpoint, Idaho; eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Graveside services were June 1 at lite Boone Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Yarncll officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston. Harley Dawson Harley Burrctt Dawson, 92. son of W.

P. and Ellen Scdonia Farmer Dawson, was bom Dec. 1 5, 1900, at Hanna in Pulaski County. He died May 29. 1993, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

He married Letha Jane Williams Oct. 28, 1925. and they had three children. Mr. Dawson was a farmer in the Plato area for many years.

He later moved to Houston and lived with his daughter and worked at the Houston Golf Club for more than 20 years. He had made his home at Houston House for the last five years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his wile.

Letha, Jan. 17, 1941; one son, Garold; and nine brothers and sisters, Wade, Collcy, Lcona, Adolphus, Glen, Horace, Clifford, Joe and Roy. Surviving arc two children, Verl Dawson and Lois Nelson of Houston; two sisters, Irene Fulks of California and Antonia DuBois of Springfield. one brother. Enos Dawson of Iowa; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were June 1 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Maurice Allen and the Rev. Kenneth Gihson officiating. Burial was in the Lynch Cemetery. Lou Hall Lou Hancy Hall.

78, daughter of Scott and Addie Hogan Odle, was born Feb. 2ft, 1915, near Simmons. She died May 3(1, 1993, at Houston House following a lengthy illness. She spent most of her life in this area. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Joe and Johnnie; two sisters, Fayc and Easter two stepbrothers, Albert and Charley; and a half sister.

Stella. Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Haney of Lakeside, and Benny Haney of Success; two daughters, Peggy Shclton of High Ridge and Eddie Lou Martin of Houston; three stepsons, Bob Hall of Plato, Bill Hall of California and Don Hall of Kansas City; one stepdaughter, Sandra Witkins of Kentucky; one brother, Tom Odle of Houston; a half brother, Lee Odle of Houston; a sister. Pearl Ice of Cabool; nine grandchildren and six greai-gTandchildren. Services were June 2 at the Evans Funeral Home Chanel with the Rev, Wesley Wallace olficiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Omega Itailey Omega Foulk Bailey, 87, daughter of Lloyd and Alice Edwards Foulk, was bom Aug, 1. 1905. at Summcrsville. She died May 31. 1993.
