Survivor describes triple murder Hal brook of Clinton, Mo. and Mr and Mrs. Kaga Ross. Herbert (Bo) Coats returned home Monday from St. John's Hospital in Springfield after being admitted ihere Friday.

A Jury of four men and eight women was sworn in here late Monday. Miss Deckard also was pulled by the shoulders and he said Thornton kicked snow over her.

Miss Deckard said she then thought she heard another shot After she felt It wbb safe, she tearfully said she rose from the snow and discovered Wesley Hawkins, 18, of Plato. and Miss Needham and tned to gel them to talk lo her She said she tried to revive them, but got no response. She said she then tried lo find Bates and began walking through the snow, looking for help.

She went about four miles over rough terrain before she found a farmhouse. Magistrate Zane White of Rolla, substituting for Magistrate Deann Smith who is on vacation, set Remington's total bond at $66,000. He failed to post bond. Two charges forcible rape and stealing a motor vehicle were transferred to circuit court. Judge White took under advisement two more charges, breaking jail and robbery in the first degree. Remington told local jail officials he was going to get a haircut.

Instead he hitchhiked to a nearby spot on Little Piney where he allegedly raped a 20-year-old girl and then stole a car. He was appehended in Oregon County. Helen Buxbaum'a lilac bush several days ago. Mrs. Buxbaum, who lives in a mobile home off highway close to the Oak Hill Church, couldn't believe her eyes when she noticed her lilac in bloom recently. She says that only one branch actually bloomed bul that two bushes were budded. Although several branches are still budded, she doesn't think they will bloom.

This is the second time around for these lilacs which Mrs. Buxbaum said flowered earlier this spring. "I've always heard that a tree or bush will die if it blooms twice a year, but so far mine still looks very healthy," said Mrs. Bux- Fannie Flowers I would like to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, visits and calls while I was in Si John's following my surgery. He received a Curator's Freshman scholarship for the academic year recently completed and was on the honor roll both semesters.

His grade point average was 3.9 for the year and was recognized as one in the top 25 of his freshman class. Gaston is a 1976 graduate from Houston High School and is majoring in chemical engineering at UM-Rolla. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Gaston.
