I. A. Murr in Meeker, Sept. 20. Mrs.

Murr was a former resident of the Alice community in Texas county She was the former Rebecca Mitchem and is survived by one brother and two sisters, and by a sister-in-law, Mrs. R. D. Smith of Houston. Mr.

and Mrs. Paul Bennett and daughters attended a family birthday dinner Sunday in West Plains. The dinner was held in the Boyd -Bennett home. Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Beasley and children recently enjoyed a visit in Wichita. Kansas, with Beasleys brother and family, the Jim Beasleys. They also stopped on the trip for a short visit in Yates Center, Kansas, with the Rev. Gerald Kelly and family and with relatives In Sarcoxie, Mo. Friday they took their 17-months old daughter to Springfield for examination and will return her this week for surgery.

A former resident, Lee Strong, visited friends here recently. The Strong family left here In 1926, moving first to Rolla, then to Downing, California. Strong was a salesman, for Milligan Grocery company when they liv ed here. This was his first visit here since moving to California and he was surprised to find so many old time friends. Mr.

and Mrs. F. F. Olevinski of St. Louis visited Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Miller over the weekend. Mrs. Olevinski and Mrs. Walker are sisters.

Sunday they visited Mrs. Olevinski and Mrs. Miller In Mountain Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. S.

D. Walker. They also visited the B. B. Barrs in Cabool.

Mr. and Mrs. Byron Gamble of FRIENDSHIP CLUB Friendship Club of Ellis met Thursday. Oct. 15 home of Mrs.

Julia McKinney. The day was spent tea towels and articles coming bazaar. The usual very good Pot Luck dinner was enjoyed by all. A Halloween party was planned for the evening of October 30th and is tb be held at the home of Mrs. Madge Hayes.

All members and friends are cordially invited. Members are to bring cookies or doughnuts. Coffee will be served, also Kool-aid for the young folks.
